When students gather to learn on a bright, comfy carpet, they feel safe, loved and comfortable. The way students feel makes a huge impact on their ability to focus at school and learn. Currently, I have a cold, hard floor for students to sit on. Please help me provide my students with this beautiful carpet to give them that safe, comfy spot to gather together where they will listen to each other, share their ideas, ask questions and grow as a human being and as a learner. When students have a warm, inviting classroom atmosphere; they can curl up with a good book and fall in love with reading. A love for literacy is a huge factor in student learning. I will have 31 students coming into my classroom this year and I want them to be able to leave 4th Grade loving to read. The pillows and comfy chairs will help provide warm and comfy spots throughout my classroom where students can curl up with a good book and learn.
