Due to the new federal mandate to have access to a school counselor for ALL students, and the decrease in our district's budget, we have barely enough staff to provide access for all of our students. Therefore, we definitely do not have a budget to buy materials to teach our social and emotional lessons. Providing these books will help our students develop into well-rounded, kind, and caring individuals. We, as school counselors, will be able to teach our lessons and skills with fidelity, and be able to make the lessons entertaining and relevant to our students. Our students deserve the best we have to offer, and these books would help us provide that.

About my class
