Reading is the most important skill that I can teach my students. It is so important to get current and interesting books in my student's hands. The Hudson Cafe is a way to encourage reading, while teaching vocabulary and introducing my students to different book genres. Each month, my classroom is transformed into the Hudson Cafe, where students can be introduced to many different books. The students move from table to table scanning each book, to see if it's a good fit for their reading level. After reading the book, each student will give a Book Talk to the class to encourage their classmates to read their book as well. All of the books that I have chosen for the this project will be used in the Book Tasting Parties this year. PLEASE consider donating to The Hudson Cafe.
