Brain research has shown a direct correlation between comfort level and intake of information. When students learn in an environment where they can be at ease, their retention goes way up. I want to give my kids the chance to learn in their own bodies. If they need to move, they can sit on a wobble chair and get that movement in. If they are comfortable on the floor, then they’ll have the chance to sit and learn low down. These pieces of furniture will build on my classroom, where I’ve added a rug, throw pillows as seating cushions, and table lamps for calmer lighting.
