Motivating older students to read can be difficult. As a K-12 reading specialist, it is difficult to provide high-interest reading material to work on reading skills at all ages. The Scope Scholastic Magazines will offer my 6th-12th graders high-interest reading material to practice reading comprehension, vocabulary, and fluency. These reading materials also aid students in making positive life choices, while also working on reading skills. The PLINKO board and wheel spinner will be used to play reading games that are engaging for all grades! Sight words, comprehension, and vocabulary practice will all be incorporated within the games. These games will give students the motivation they need to build confidence and increase reading skills. Other materials will be used to engage younger grades in fluency readings, sight word identification, and identifying letters. By donating to this project, you will not only give students the motivation and engagement they need, but you will also help them reach reading goals, boost confidence, and increase academic achievement.
