My students deserve to see themselves reflect in literature. As an English teacher, I want to expose them to a wide range of literary texts that will help them realize that their stories matter. I want my students to foster a love of reading that will grow beyond my classroom. With the funding of this project, my students will have access to texts that tell the stories that relate to them and their perspective of the world. Too many times our students give up on reading because they don’t see themselves reflected in the literary world. I aim to change that in my classroom with this project and your help.
