We are off to a great start in Kindergarten. A new school year means new routines, new curriculum, and new resources needed for the classroom. I am excited that my kindergarteners are mastering our procedures for whole group instruction and are learning the procedures for small group activities. Working with our center rotations is always very popular for my students because it offers a variety of activities that cover each learning style. One center we need to desperately update is our computer center! We currently have an old desktop computer that does not work well. It is a very slow computer and the online counting games my students can play barely runs. I love using this center in particular as we begin counting sequences. This allows my students to start associating values with matching coins. In return, it helps as we begin to count in multiples of fives and also tens. It is my wish to complete funding for this project so my students can utilize a new Chromebook with a wireless mouse. With more assessments being administered online, I know using a class Chromebook will be perfect for my students. We can play our online money game and use other counting games as well. It will also familiarize them using a wireless mouse. Please help my students receive this much-needed resource as we begin this brand new school year!
