Our classroom is lucky to have access to Chromebooks everyday. We use these Chromebooks for math and reading interventions. The kids can also do these at home to practice skills. The programs we use often have sound to keep it exciting for the kids. The reading program we use also has a speaking component. The headphones I am requesting would allow the students that are unable to afford headphones (and more specifically headphones with a microphone) to use the same computer interventions of their peers. With these headphones, instead of having to try to complete the program without sound or low sound kids without headphones won't have to worry. Also students around them won't be distracted by the sound either.
