One of my goals in the classroom is to always tie our lessons into the real world. One of our units focuses on the microbiome and has a specific lesson to teach students about antibiotics. With these supplies, students will be introduced to the magic of medicine, and even get to practice it themselves! Showing them how antibiotics work will stick with them throughout life, and the petri dishes and agar will help them to become aware of the microscopic world around them. My students are already in love with the world of microscopy, and I know this lesson would truly impact them and open them to a new world of career opportunities, as well!
