Last year was my first year at the middle school. I inherited a lot of my classroom materials from the teacher before me. The library is one area that is seriously lacking in my room. Having a library with various reading materials is very important for my students to be successful. All of my students do not read on grade level and are unable to read the books I have in my room. The books I have are either too young or too advanced for them to read. I think most of their hatred for books stems from the frustration of not being able to read the books they're supplied with. My hope is that I can give them new books to choose from for the upcoming school year. I am hoping to transform my classroom library into a fun and relaxing environment that doesn't have intimidating books.
