My project goal is to provide seating options more appropriate for young active bodies. A typical lesson is at least 15 minutes, but up to one hour. I include movement as much as I can and brain breaks as necessary, yet students still wiggle around, slouching or tipping in their chairs. Please help me provide my students the ability to move safely while remaining focused and on task! Research shows that flexible seating can help students remain focused and productive. Traditional desks and chairs are not the most conducive to learning for all students. The clipboards will allow them to stand, sit on the floor, or stretch out on the floor during lessons, while wiggle cushions and seat bands will allow them to safely move in their seats. All of these options will help avoid the distractions that come from sitting too long. My class and I would appreciate the difference this would make to our daily learning environment!
