Our students have never had the opportunity to explore the most fundamental subject in all of life science, the microscopic life form. With this new equipment, cells become real living things, rather than just a picture on a slide show or in a book. They will be able to actual see what a bacteria looks like, how a cell changes due to external environments, and actual see for themselves how life can be sustained in even the smallest living things. For our students, this means actual, practical applications of what they are reading in their texts and learning about during lecture. It will no longer just be words on a page, but real life happening before their eyes. It will allow the students to experience a life like laboratory experience and inspire them to see more of what it means be a "living" organism. They will be more prepared to function in college-level biology courses and feel more confident in taking on those types of classes.
