Using physical books will allow my special needs students to avoid the difficulty and wasted time of managing a computer with all the bells and whistles that go with it. Having books will allow my students to annotate on the pages of the books and make connections more quickly than if they were on a computer trying to figure out how to use the tools instead of focusing on the skills needed for analyzing reading passages. The book Wonder is about a child with a severe disability, much like my students. Reading this book will not only increase their understanding of character motivation but also might give them a sense of peace that they are not alone in the world.
