Inspiring students to love reading is one of our highest goals as teachers. We know that in engaging with literature, students gain a lifetime of benefits beyond becoming critical thinkers. Through books, students will be able to explore worlds beyond their own. Students will enrich their vocabulary and they will become effective writers through the careful evaluation of language as they read. They will become stronger analytical thinkers. Additionally, they will improve concentration and focus a much needed skill to be successful students. Above all this, in being able to read the same novel along with another class friend they will gain communication skills in analyzing, evaluating and discussing the book together.
