Students at the PreK level come into the classroom for the first time. About half of my students come into our classroom with a learning deficit, typically in communication skills. Providing any of these project materials for my students will help them to learn how to work together, and communicate with other students through play and exploration. Many of my students are from a low income household and have very few toys at home to interact with. They need dramatic play materials. I have also asked for a changing table as some of my students with a learning deficit are still working toward being potty trained and require changing throughout the day. Typical changing tables cannot accommodate the size of a toddler on a regular bases and would require students to be lifted to the table putting a strain on me physically as well as my assistant.
