These items will be utilized by allowing my students to stay focused and engaged during small group instruction. My autistic students will be able to move around the classroom and choose which type of seating they prefer. Students will have the flexibility to collaborate with peers with flexible seating. Having this type of seating will allow students to take risks and feel comfortable in the classroom environment. My goal is for students to utilize flexible seating to produce quality work. It will actually encourage participation and student engagement as flexible seating allows for student mobility. Research has shown that flexible seating increases students academic performance.
