By acquiring additional Chromebooks, students will be able to engage in collaborative projects and access digital content in all academic classes. At the present point, about 1/2 of our students bring their own devices. The other 1/2 of students don't have devices to bring to support their academic learning in their classes for research, writing, and collaboration in digital environments. We currently do not have any Chromebooks in the world language department for students use. We would like to increase access to these devices with 2 new Chromebooks so students who can't supply their own devices in our Bring Your Own Device school do not suffer from the Digital Divide a lack of technology can create. The presence of these devices will create more opportunity for students to apply 21st century skills across the curriculum and create an equitable learning environment. With access to technology students will be able to engage in collaborative learning tasks using a wide range or tools such as but not limited to, Kahoot, Quizlett, Google for education, Google Earth, and Google Tour Builder and be able to create multi media presentations to demonstrate their skills in the Spanish speaking classroom.
