In Kindergarten we are scientists and authors and mathematicians. We are map makers and chefs and teachers. Everything is possible. We will use the blocks, magnetic path of motion activities and math materials to shift from receiving knowledge to creating knowledge. We will be the authors of our own growth. We will do this by taking learned concepts and expressing them with these exploration materials. Maria Montessori said, "Never help a child with a task at which he feels he can succeed." These materials will help my students to build agency in their own learning and then in their place in the world. By offering students these materials to build and sort and write with independent learning happens.
