In my classroom, I promote good behavior and hard work. Students earn tickets for good behavior, making good choices, and working hard. With these resources, my students will participate in a bi-weekly class store where they can spend their hard earned tickets in the classroom store. I choose to reward students for positive behavior rather than focusing on negative behavior. Students love the opportunity to spend their hard-earned tickets on materials that they can enjoy in the classroom while they work. I have found that snacks and drinks are their favorite things to buy at the class store for this age of students. This also cuts down on behavior issues because the students do try harder if there are high expectations set for them and there is a reward at the end. These donations will help improve my classroom by encouraging good behavior while promoting a love for learning and doing well. Students absolutely love to be rewarded and also like to be able to choose how they spend their tickets they have earned. I have found this to be a very beneficial and positive system in my classroom.
