During work sessions, these fourth graders have the autonomy to choose the order in which they complete their work. Often times, they have the choice to work independently, with a partner, or in a small group depending on the assignment. Students choosing to work independently will greatly benefit from noise-cancelling headphones. The headphones will help them to focus on their task rather than their classmates' discussions. With this tool, students will be able to produce their best work at any time of the day. Additionally, the headphones are extremely helpful during testing situations. Some children need help blocking out any background noise in order to focus on an assessment. Students will feel at ease when they can fully focus to show what they know.
