Students with dyslexia and other learning disabilities may have trouble understanding content that is delivered through traditional instruction. Using multi sensory instruction and hands on activities gives the students a new way to view and "look" at math. The use of manipulatives and other visual aids are just some of the resources that can be used to help the students be successful. Working with their hands and physically piecing the math together helps them make the meaningful connections that are needed to help understand the content. For example, using a algebra tiles to piece together an equation helps the students visually see the items written in the equation.
