My students need to actively learn and participate in order to develop a lifelong love for music. Right now, our classroom has only a few percussion instruments and a handful of keyboards. Having enough xylophones for half a class at a time would be an incredible way to enable active learning. They would be able to learn rhythm and note reading on one instrument all at once. Many of my students want to eventually learn piano. This is an excellent place for them to start on the road to reaching that goal and encourage my future percussionists as well. Xylophones are the backbone of a lot of music curriculum, and we currently have one.
