Brain bins are morning work options that are used in the classroom to boost creativity, encourage critical thinking, and promote problem-solving skills! My plan is to use brain bins as a soft start that encourages a joyful tone for our day. It sets the tone to wake up, warm-up, and says, “Good morning! Get ready to Problem Solve today!” In my classroom, I have students of various levels in their learning. I have observed how STEM activities foster confidence and creativity in all levels. Everyone can participate and it's not a worksheet. I love teaching with hands-on activities! These bins will allow my students to learn more than what is stated in our standards; it will help them develop as a whole child. Academic pressure continues to grow reaching even our youngest learners. "Brain Bins" will create a welcoming, engaging morning routine that allows students to continue to foster developmentally appropriate skills. I have researched how STEM bins, or Brain Bins, benefit students' problem solving skills. With students of various needs and levels, I feel like this will be a great positive start to our day. It will give students something to look forward to each morning on their way to school. I hope you will consider helping boost our brains and bring joy to our morning routine!
