I teach English Language Arts in a low income area of Memphis, TN. Most of my students struggle with problems children should not have to face. I want to give them a safe and exciting place to learn and grow. I've been purchasing these materials out of my pocket, but I am also paying for graduate school and cannot afford it. The ELA curriculum requires visual aids to help students grasp the material. Anchor charts are extremely important in my classroom. Students work in groups and engage in academic discussions in which they provide evidence on the chart. Unfortunately, I do not have wall space to model important tasks because I need the walls open for the students' work. The portable easel would solve that problem and my walls can be an open gallery to aide in students' learning and growth. Please help me expand their minds and give them a chance to succeed!
