Flexible seating allows students to take charge of their learning and make the choices that work best for them. During independent work times they choose a location in the classroom that works for them. Currently my students are working at their desks or on the carpet. I also have been able to buy a few pillows to put around the room. However, I do not have enough for more than 3 students, which is limiting. Making sure students are comfortable is an essential component in motivating them. I have noticed amazing differences in my students when they are given a choice in their seating. The products that I have selected will help my students by giving them additional seating options to make more effective learning choices. The blue rug will be able to go under a low to the floor table that I already have. Students will not have to sit on the cold, tile floor. They will be able to sit on the rug at the table and work independently or in groups. Students will be able to move the pillows around the room as well and read. They can also sit on them while they do work. Lastly, students will be able to use the Flex-Space Compfy Floor Seats to move around the room and work on clipboards or read. I have seen how choice can positively affect my students work and demeanor and hope that the additional options will help us grow even more!
