With the use of effective reading intervention programs for students who are reading 2 or more grade levels behind, students will have a chance to be successful inside and outside the classroom. With some instructional tools like leveled readers, guided reading, pencil grips, wobble chairs, and sensory fidgets, students can increase their literacy skills while learning in an environment that serves them. When resources are not easily accessible, students needs are overlooked and are set up to fail. The students I work with don't always have access to many resources and materials at home, therefore, they are relying on school to give them the chances they deserve. "Literacy is the most significant skill needed to effectively function at school, in the work place, and society... it is vital to successful education, career, and quality of life!"
