Create a comfortable and safe place to read and the children will come. The soft seating that I am asking for will allow students to choose where they want to sit and read. Most of the day students sit in uncomfortable chairs. Flexible and comfortable seating options will not only make the Library more inviting, but also allow students to choose the best place for them to read. Reading can be a challenge for some students but having comfortable seating in the Library can help to create an environment where students can feel good about reading and the opportunities that are available to discover, explore, and engage in learning through their reading. The products that I have selected will provide flexible seating areas in the Library for both the Picture book area, for the K-2nd grade students, and the Fiction/Chapter book area for the 3rd-6th grade students. No more crowding around a table and struggling to read uninterrupted or Kindergarten students trying to sit in chairs designed for the upper grades. My goal is to create a Library experience that helps students develop their reading skills and an appreciation for Libraries that can carry on throughout life.
