My students are reluctant readers. When we tell them It is independent reading time they moan. I want this to change this year. We need to foster a love of reading in the classroom. I want them to be excited about reading. Currently they all sit in their seats during reading. One way that I think we can help them become excited about reading is to have them take ownership of where they want to sit in the classroom during independent reading time. The different materials I have picked out gives them the opportunity to find a reading space that is their own in the classroom.
