The school that I am going to this fall has a very limited selection of instruments to choose from. As of right now, they only have recorders and boom whackers. I would like to start adding instruments to their collection so that I can give the students a variety of musical experiences. With the xylophones, I will be able to have the students explore melody through composition and performance. We will also be able to start exploring melodic ostinatos. I believe that the xylophones will add a lot to the school music program. I believe that it will also add an exciting dimension to what the students have already learned under the previous music teacher.
