I will be teaching at a school that is located in the neighborhood that I grew up in. I am excited to return to my community. Since I am a career changer my personal resources are limited. The Astronomy class is not only a new course at my school but new to the district. Since this course is a new addition, I have absolutely no space science materials and resources for my students. My project is for classroom equipment, such as the Geo Safari motorized solar system model, which will help my students better visualize how these systems move. Materials such as the celestial star globe, star finder/zodiac dial, and astronomy clever catch ball will further help my students visualize celestial bodies. My students are excited about this new course and are eager to learn about our natural world and beyond. We could use as much help in building our classroom to its fullest potential.
