My students love to play music, and do not currently have a mallet selection to choose from that will provide them with success for the future. When my students receive these mallets, they will be able to perform various techniques on percussion instruments. The mallets chosen will create soft, loud, and varying articulated sound effects on the instruments they will be used on. By having these mallets students will learn to identify which mallet type will be best to fit a musical selection being played in class or at a performance. The goal of this project is to help students learn to think critically of the music they are playing so they will be more critical of the mallets they choose to perform with. The first and foremost is to give all students a chance to play in class with quality material. They can learn about technique, choice, and be able to play with better understanding of their musical ability. These mallets will provide for a better environment in the classroom as well as on the concert stage.
