PowerPoint slides and note-taking are too often the only way science is taught in elementary. This is usually due to a lack of resources. Unfortunately, this strategy leaves students with limited time for discovery and exploration. Experimentation and observations are the true meaning of science! These materials in this project will help in many ways when it comes to harnessing these students' curiosity and deepening their understanding of this topic. First and foremost, these materials will give all students a chance to create their own robot that they can design, test, race, and take home! This activity will single-handedly work to stimulate the minds of my students and encourage them to “think outside the box.” With your generous donation, they will begin to learn the process of encountering problems with critical thinking, ingenuity, and finding innovative solutions. They will gain new knowledge about robotics and circuits through an effective hands-on approach and can put their notes away for an action-packed day of exploration!
