Many of our students come from trauma backgrounds and lack the necessary skills to understand and regulate their emotions. The tools that I'm asking for can help them in many ways: a soft, warm, weighted blanket to help them feel "grounded" and comforted, or fidget tools and coloring books to help with focus. The Play Therapy tools that students can use will enable students to "show" me how they're feeling when they don't have the words to describe their feelings. These tools will help them get their emotions in check so they can be better able to learn in class.The board games and card games can help students one on one or in small groups to help with communication skills as well as social skills.
