My 1,200 9th-12th graders come from very diverse backgrounds. Our minority and immigrant populations increase every year and we now have over 34 first languages spoken. Over 60% of our students also qualify for free and reduced lunch. We are located just south of a major city near the airport. My students' interest in reading varies greatly. Some are voracious readers, and others don't want to even look at a book. For this reason it is essential that we have a huge variety of materials so that I can find the perfect fit for each individual.
