I believe in a hands-on learning environment that is student-centered, with a warm familial safe setting. The materials that I request will create a safe and fun learning environment where my students will not be afraid to be themselves. They will let down their guard and allow true learning to take place as we explore themes in literature, expand our reading comprehension skills, and unlock vibrant vocabulary. Flexible seating allows students to take charge of their learning and make choices that work best for them. During independent work times, they will be able to choose a location in the classroom that works best for them. Making sure students are comfortable is an essential component in motivating them. I have noticed amazing differences in my students when they are given a choice in their seating and the environment is warm and friendly. My students are noticeably more engaged in their work and less disruptive of their peers. The products that I have selected will help my students by giving them additional seating options to make more effective learning choices. They will also help with the overall tone and mood of the classroom.
