The use of hands-on reading and math materials will be used in small group instructional sessions as well as often in whole group settings. The students will benefit from being about to take individual sounds of words and piece them together through the puzzles and games. What better to way to show students that a word is composed of multiple sounds, then to have them physically put a word together. The math materials will help the students better visualize the math concepts that are being taught in the classroom. Students will be able to build an addition problem through the use of the ten-frames and the addition and subtraction games. My students are always more attentive and engaged in the lesson when they are using hands-on learning games or manipulatives. Although my students all have unique learning needs and abilities they all share a love for learning and being active just as any young child does. I am excited and eager to gain these learning materials will increase my ability to effectively reach and meet my students’ learning needs.
