As a first-year teacher, I want to pour out everything I learned in school and give it to my students. Many of my students do not have access to rich or interesting texts at home. I want my students to become passionate about reading and go into first grade with the skills they need to become expert readers and writers. I strongly believe my students deserve access to texts that provoke conversation, thought, and exploration. This project would allow me to not only touch my students for the current school year, but it would be the start of a library that would touch children's hearts and minds for many years to come.

About my class
