I need lap desks and flexible seating options for my students because I know sometimes it's a struggle for them to concentrate when they're sitting for hours in a typical desk and chair. I've learned that a simple change of seating can make a difference in their stamina and engagement. I want to give my students opportunities to learn self-regulation. Flexible seating cushions and wobble chairs are resources to help them develop skills that will teach them to be accountable for what they produce. For example, when students are asked to read or write independently, they will now have the option to sit in a seat where they are most comfortable and where they learn best.
