During teacher-led small groups, my students are usually being accessed. This takes them away from the “fun” centers. Imagine their excitement and eagerness to go to the center with the fun chairs!! When students are excited to learn, learning is much easier for both the students and teachers. Having fun and inviting tools help to build that excitement. Flexible seating is a great option to build excitement while giving in to kids’ natural inclination to move. Play-Doh is fun in and of itself, but to practice letter building and recognition is an awesome way to get kids excited about letters, phonics, and eventually, words and sentences.
