My classroom meeting area is a place that my students really enjoy. I read to them, and we have our community meetings and our whole group lessons. Throughout the day, they gather to complete small group work there, and they read independently! Making sure students are comfortable is an essential component in motivating them. The rug I have chosen includes the alphabet displayed in alphabetical order. By having a rug such as this, my students this year, and many years to come will be able to use it as a tool to learn how to alphabetize by moving different objects around on the carpet.
