My students need to be exposed to literature of diverse cultures. As we read these novels, Just Mercy and Raisin in the Sun, we will be exploring the society in which the works are set, how society has created the problems, and how to create a more equitable society. Students will engage in reflective writing, small group discussions, podcast creation, and research projects associated with these novels. Through the reading of these diverse works, my students, who live in an isolated area, will be able to broaden their horizons and have a more positive impact on their future.
