The books by Stuart Murphy will help me teach math skills to my students. These books will integrate literature and math while teaching the necessary skills to reach their grade level standards. MathStart books not only teach math, but life skills too. They show kids that they use math every day. Examples include sharing a pizza, spending their allowance, and even sorting socks. Stuart Murphy writes funny stories about math to help students see that math can be fun too! The books have 3 levels and teach the necessary skills that include recognizing patterns, comparing sizes, learning directions, doubling numbers, counting, time, ordinal numbers and many more math skills.
