Students will be exploring the role of hardware platforms in computing, and learn how different sensors can provide more effective input and output than the traditional keyboard, mouse and monitor. Students will be using App Lab and Adafruit's Circuit Playground to develop programs that utilize the same hardware inputs and outputs that are seen in smart devices. Students will be looking at how a simple rough prototype can lead to a finished product. They will engage in a design challenge and use the Circuit Playground as the basis for an innovation of their own design. For students who are new to programming, they will have the option to use a block-based language, while those with more experience may use a text-based language.
