The housekeeping area of my classroom is the most popular area. At the beginning of the year my students feel the most comfortable playing out different scenarios of home life. This new kitchen has all the parts of a real kitchen to allow my students to recreate what they have at home. It will help them adjust and feel safe about coming to school for the first time and allow hours of play where students will learn so many communication skills and social -emotional skills. This new kitchen would be a one time purchase that would last for many years and help not just one class but many classes to feel safe and happy, as they interact together. I have seen shy students come out of their shells and even aggressive students calm as they played in the housekeeping area. The biggest part of making that area complete is the kitchen set. I really will appreciate helping me make this possible!
