The students at NHJH love our MakerSpace and love getting to create things. This year the students are going to create a theme park in the library for all the students to see. There are many things that the students can do. STEAM - Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math are all covered in our MakerSpace. Students have the opportunity to make things during the MakerSpace Club after school. Two days per week for two hours the students will have extra time to enjoy making things. The make-it take-it part of makerspace uses many consumables. We are always replacing them so the students can continue to design and create items. The supplies listed are for the make-it take-it part of makerspace and the K'nex are to enlarge the amusement park and add more rides. The students like displaying their creations for other students and parents to look at. I take pictures while students are working on the many different things they make and create in the library. Libraries aren't just for books anymore. Many librarians are bringing in different things for students to do in order to get students more interested in being in the library. The students have really become interested and are spending more time in the library. While they are designing and creating items they also do research on how to improve the items they are making.
