At the conclusion of each school year, 5th grade students are required by the state to take the Georgia Milestones Assessment. Currently our school has a very limited number of laptops available for student use. To adequately prepare our students for this computerized assessment, we must have classroom sets of laptops. These computers will be used primarily to prepare our students for this extremely important assessment. Over 50% of our 5th grade students do not have adequate technology at home. To be college or career ready, as our school district mission statements states, students must have this technology ready available. They must also know how to use the technology.
