Two years ago I was able to borrow book boxes from a teacher friend of mine. Each student was given a box and at the beginning of each week he or she was able to fill the box with books. It had to include a chapter book, picture books, fiction and non fiction and other choices for that week. Each week we would switch out our books with new ones, or they could keep some of the ones they had picked out previously. A writing journal was also kept in this box. During free time or silent reading students could grab their box and go anywhere in the room to read or write. There was no standing around the classroom library pretending to pick out a book and then get up again to say they didn't like it. Book boxes were a helpful tool to my classroom management that year. I was not able to borrow them last year and it was a disaster. I am not able to borrow them this year either which is why I am reaching out to you.
