Our school has new STEM lab program, but we are beginning with very little instructional materials. One important aspect of STEM is robotics, coding, and computer science. I am the STEM lab teacher for middle grades, and I teach students in a rural Title I school who have never been exposed to any of these topics. The Sphero Minis would enable me to be able to teach coding and open my students up to a whole new educational experience as well as careers in computer science. Students in my 5th-7th Stem Lab would use the Sphero Minis ts to begin learning to code using the application on our new iPads. Sphero minis are a great way to start small and affordable to understand scratch block coding to java script. After visiting another school with a class set I thought it would be a great way start off robotics and coding in our new middle grades STEM lab. As of right now we have one Sphero mini and the children love it. I can't wait to offer 10 more to my class so students can work in groups to program codes to control the sphero mini.
