I teach in a Title I school in which the majority of the student population is economically disadvantaged. Our school is located in a rural area where not many enrichment opportunities are easily available for most of my students. Although there are some community resources in the area, the kind and variety are limited. Many of the students come from single parent families who are not able to expose their children to many of the same opportunities that families of middle incomes can. They tend not to be able to enhance their children's learning by exposing them to nature and the world around them.
