I like to teach and perform with my mallet instruments but I have to borrow from other schools to do brief units and I would love to have my own classroom set to allow my students to learn and perform with these instruments all throughout the year. I have about 300 students and I use them with all my classes grades kindergarten through eighth grade. I use them to teach many of the standards in our curriculum, from beginning content like high and low pitch to more advanced skills like improvisation and creating melodic lines. We have several alto and soprano instruments but the bass xylophones are the most expensive and they really help balance the ensemble.
